How to Use AI Categorization

AI categorization helps assign uncategorized books into existing categories automatically.

Scope

• Admin category management page
• Administrator accounts only

Prerequisites

1. AI configuration is ready (top status should indicate availability).
2. At least one category already exists.
3. Books are already scanned and visible in the library.

Steps

1. Open Category Management.
2. Select target storage source at the top.
3. Click Generate Preset Categories.
4. Confirm the task scope in the confirmation card and start.

Where to Check Task Progress

• The job runs asynchronously in backend tasks.
• Check status and progress in Task Management (running/completed/failed).
• After page refresh, status should be restored from server task state.

How to Verify Results

On the category page, verify:

• category count changes
• pending uncategorized count
• last categorization time
• token usage (if displayed)

FAQ

1. No visible change after click

• Check AI status first.
• Confirm there are pending uncategorized books.
• Open task management and inspect failure details if any.

2. Progress disappears after refresh

• Use server task state in task management as source of truth.
• Very short jobs may complete before you can observe the running state.

3. Categorization quality is not ideal

• Manually fix key categories, then run AI categorization again.
• Start with a single storage source first, then scale up.
