Playback Fails or No Sound
1. Network / Access Layer
- Ensure reverse proxy does not enforce HTTP Basic Auth.
- Check server URL, certificate validity, and port availability.
2. WebDAV Response Quality
- Slow WebDAV may cause long buffering or failures.
- For cloud-drive WebDAV adapters, enable cloud mode in storage settings.
3. File and Format
- Confirm the file format is supported. The system officially supports
.mp3,.m4a,.m4b,.flac,.wav, and.wma;.wmaplays through server-side FFmpeg transcoding. - Raw
.aac,.ogg,.opus, and DRM-protected proprietary formats are not supported. - When the Web player uses HLS online transcoding for
.wmaor some.m4bchapters, only basic playback is guaranteed. Fast forward, rewind, and arbitrary timeline seeking may be unavailable. - Re-scan library after storage changes.
- Try another chapter to exclude single-file corruption.
4. Device/System Factors
- Disable aggressive battery optimization for Android background playback.
- Check whether other apps are taking audio focus.
Still Failing?
Inspect server logs. 404 / 401 errors usually indicate storage path or permission issues.
