Android Car

Android Car is a separate client for landscape Android car units, in-car tablets, and other large-screen Android devices.

Open the download page to get the Android Car APK

Do not confuse the car package with the regular Android phone package.

Install

1. Download the car APK;
2. Transfer it by USB drive, LAN transfer, or the car browser;
3. Open the APK in the car file manager;
4. Allow unknown-source installation when prompted;
5. Open Leelaa Car.

Connect to the server

Enter a stable LAN address:

http://192.168.1.10:8686

Then enter the Leelaa Reader server username and password.

Controls

• Touch-screen controls are supported;
• D-pad or remote controls can be used on supported devices;
• System media keys are handled through Android MediaSession;
• Previous and next media commands map to previous and next chapters.

Notes

• Compatibility depends on the car model and Android build;
• Add the app to the background allowlist if the system aggressively stops background apps;
• Avoid complex interaction while driving;
• The server-provided full queue and chapter order remain authoritative.
