Connect Tingjian Audiobook to Leelaa Reader

Tingjian Audiobook (听见有声) is an iOS audiobook player. Connect it to Leelaa Reader to browse your library, search for audiobooks, resume listening, view chapters, download content, and manage playback progress on an iPhone or iPad.

NOTE

This guide applies to Tingjian Audiobook 1.4.5 and later. Labels and locations may vary slightly between releases; refer to the interface in your installed version.

Before you connect

Have the following ready:

• A deployed Leelaa Reader server that is running and reachable;
• The Leelaa Reader address, such as https://reader.example.com;
• The port used by the service. Standard HTTPS and HTTP normally use ports 443 and 80, respectively;
• A Leelaa Reader username and password.

Open the server address in Safari on the iPhone or iPad first and confirm that the Leelaa Reader sign-in page is reachable.

Add Leelaa Reader

1. Open Server Center

Open Tingjian Audiobook, select Settings in the bottom navigation, and tap Server Center.

2. Add a server

Tap the + button in the upper-right corner of Server Center. If no server has been configured yet, you can also tap Add your first server on the page.

3. Enter the connection details

Complete the Add Server form:

• Name: Enter a recognizable name, such as “Leelaa.”
• HTTPS: Turn this on when the service uses HTTPS; leave it off for HTTP.
• Address: Enter the domain or IP address. Include a required deployment subpath when applicable, but do not repeat http:// or https://.
• Port: Enter the port on which the service is actually listening.
• Username and password: Enter your Leelaa Reader credentials.

Tingjian Audiobook automatically detects the server type after you enter the address. A successful detection displays “Leelaa.” If detection fails, check the address, protocol, and port first. If the page offers manual server type selection, choose Leelaa.

TIP

When using a reverse proxy, enter the domain, path, and port that the phone actually uses. Do not enter an internal container address.

4. Test and save

Tap Test Connection. After the connection succeeds, tap the checkmark in the upper-right corner to save it.

Return to Server Center and confirm that the new server is enabled. Tingjian Audiobook uses content from this server on the Listen, Bookshelf, and Search pages.

Use the connected server

Browse and play

Select the Leelaa server on the Listen page to view items such as Continue Listening, recent content, official categories, and recommendations. Select a book to open its details, then tap Start Playing or Continue Playing.

The details page shows the description, current progress, and chapter list. The player provides chapter switching, playback speed, sleep timer, and other common controls. Playback can also be controlled from the lock screen, Control Center, and headset buttons.

Search

Open Search from the bottom navigation, enter a title, author, or keyword, and submit the search. Select a result to open its book details.

Bookshelf and progress

Add books to your favorites from the book details page and view them together on the Bookshelf page. Playback progress is stored on the device and, when the server and synchronization features are available, is also synchronized according to the current configuration.

Offline listening

Use the download action on the book details page or in the chapter list. After downloading, open Settings > Offline & Storage to review storage usage and manage offline content.

Manage servers

Open Settings > Server Center to manage saved servers:

• Select a server to edit its address, port, or credentials.
• Use the switch on the right to temporarily disable or re-enable a server.
• Run Test Connection again after changing connection details.
• Delete servers you no longer use from the edit page. Deleting a server removes its locally saved configuration and credentials, so proceed carefully.

Troubleshooting

• Server cannot be detected: Confirm that the address points to Leelaa Reader rather than another service or an administration panel. Check that any reverse-proxy subpath is correct.
• Connection fails or times out: Confirm that the phone can reach the server, then check DNS, firewall rules, port forwarding, and LAN permissions.
• Certificate error: Confirm that the HTTPS certificate is valid, matches the domain, and has a complete certificate chain. Do not enable HTTPS solely because the port is 443.
• Incorrect username or password: Sign in to the Leelaa Reader web interface with the same credentials, then re-enter them in Tingjian Audiobook.
• Endpoint not found: Do not append an extra API path unless Leelaa Reader is actually deployed under that subpath.
• No content after saving: Confirm that the server is enabled, then return to the Listen page, select it again, and refresh.

When reporting a problem, protect your privacy by redacting real domains, IP addresses, usernames, passwords, cookies, tokens, and complete diagnostic data.
