Manages library scans, synchronization, cleanup, and recoverable or permanent book removal.
Scan, Metadata, and Cleanup
- Scan rebuilds the library index, imports new books, and fills basic metadata.
- Online metadata updates the author, cover, description, or narrator for one book.
- Cleanup removes database records whose source files no longer exist.
What a Scan Does
- Treats audiobook folders as books and audio files as chapters.
- Finds local cover images or embedded audio artwork.
- Imports only new or changed books and chapters during incremental scans.
- Resumes interrupted large scans from saved progress.
- Fills a missing description from
desc.txtwhen files finish downloading and the library is scanned again. For a local library with file watching enabled, a newly createddesc.txt, or one renamed into place after download, schedules a merged follow-up scan. - Streams task progress to signed-in Web and App clients.

Trash and Permanent Removal
Deleting a book first moves it to Trash and hides it from Home and library lists. You can restore it while it remains there.
Permanent removal deletes the book's Leelaa Reader database records, including chapters, cover associations, and playback history. It never deletes source audio files from your NAS, local disk, or cloud drive.
