Playback Settings
Manage app volume, default speed, seek steps, Lock Screen controls, headphone behavior, and interruption preferences in one place.
Where to Find It
In the App, open Profile -> Playback Settings to manage default playback behavior in one place. Web and Car continue to expose the controls suited to their own players.
Volume and Speed
- App volume changes playback volume inside the App without changing the device system volume.
- Default speed applies to books that do not have their own saved speed.
- Seek steps control how many seconds forward and back actions move.
Saved per-book preferences, including speed and intro or outro skipping, continue to take priority for that book.
System Controls and Sync
- Choose whether Lock Screen and system media controls use previous or next chapter, or seek backward and forward.
- Adjust the network progress sync interval to balance timely updates and request frequency.
- Choose whether playback pauses when wired headphones or Bluetooth audio disconnect.
Audio Interruptions
For calls, navigation prompts, or another app taking audio focus, choose whether playback pauses, lowers its volume, or ignores the interruption. iOS or Android may still apply its own audio-focus rules.
Restore Defaults
Restore Playback Settings resets only app volume, default speed, seek steps, Lock Screen controls, sync interval, headphone behavior, and interruption policy.
It does not clear playback progress, the current queue, reading history, listening reports, or saved per-book playback settings.
