Add and Edit Libraries
Adds, updates, and validates library connections for local folders, WebDAV, cloud-drive compatibility, and RSS subscriptions.
Entry Points
- Web: Open Libraries and select Add Library, or edit an existing library.
- Mobile: Open Profile -> Library Management, then add a library or select one to edit.
Common Uses
- Connect a local folder, WebDAV server, compatible cloud drive, or RSS feed for the first time.
- Update an existing library address, account, root folder, or synchronization policy.
- Switch between local, WebDAV, cloud-drive compatibility, and RSS modes.
Core Actions
1. Add a Library
- Choose a mode: Local folders, WebDAV, compatible cloud drives, and RSS subscriptions are supported.
- Enter connection details: Provide a name, server address, username and password, or an absolute local path.
- Follow the guided flow: Web and mobile separate connection details from path selection and saving to reduce configuration errors.
2. Validate Connections and Paths
- Local mode (domestic fnOS FPK): The fnOS folder picker can select and authorize a library folder when Leelaa Reader is opened inside the fnOS app or in fnOS window mode.
- Local mode (other entry points): The fnOS folder picker is not available when the page is opened directly in a regular browser, or in the international FPK and Docker editions. Enter an absolute path that the service can read instead.
- WebDAV and cloud-drive modes: Validate the connection before browsing remote folders and choosing a root path.
- RSS mode: Enter an HTTP or HTTPS feed URL. RSS 2.0 and Atom audio feeds are supported, and saving verifies that the feed contains at least one valid audio item.
3. Edit an Existing Library
- Update addresses and credentials when a NAS address, password, or reverse-proxy domain changes.
- Change the root folder after moving the book directory.
- Preserve existing data when the library structure remains compatible, allowing the system to reuse previous matches instead of treating the entire library as new.
4. Advanced Options
- Cloud-drive mode reduces sensitive capability checks for third-party services exposed through WebDAV.
- File watching and STRM options are available for supported local-library workflows.
- Automatic synchronization can periodically refresh RSS feeds and remote folders.
Notes
- The fnOS folder picker is limited to Local mode in the domestic fnOS FPK and requires opening Leelaa Reader inside the fnOS app or in fnOS window mode. Enter the path manually when opening the page directly in a regular browser.
- When entering a local path manually, use an absolute path that the service can read. For Docker, this must be a path inside the container, such as
/app/media, rather than a host path. - Confirm the destination structure before changing a root path because large changes can trigger extensive rematching.
- Passwords may not be returned when editing. Re-enter the password before saving when needed.
- Validate WebDAV and cloud-drive connections before saving.
- Private RSS feeds can use a complete provider URL containing a token, but separate credentials, cookies, and interactive sign-in are not supported.
- Existing RSS episodes remain available when an upstream feed only returns its most recent items.
